December 5, 2019, at the Regional Art Museum named after V.V. Vereshchagin opened the exhibition “The genius of the sea element” from the works of Honored Artist of Ukraine A.P. Zavgorodny (1929-2009) from the cycle “Legends of Mykolaiv”. The exhibition presents works by the Master of the muzey funds and the private collection of the artist’s family. The artist worked in the technique of gouache, watercolor and oil painting. The main theme of his work – ship and sea romance, his favorite color – gray. Operating the gray, making it warm, then cold, giving it a wide range of tonal, the artist created a kind of painting gallery of landscapes dedicated to river and sea spaces.
