August 1, 2018, in the music room of the Mykolayiv Regional Art Museum named after V.V. Vereshchagin, held a press conference on the occasion of the start of the exhibition “Taras Shevchenko – the soul of the Ukrainian people”. The exhibition presents graphic works from the collection of the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko (Kyiv). 30 graphic works, including 26 etchings and 4 drawings, made with sepia and pencil, are represented. The technique of etching T.G. Shevchenko thoroughly studied the works of such masters as the Dutch artist Rembrandt. He was well versed in various methods of graphic representation. It was for the art of engraving that he was awarded the title of academician.
