On May 4, 2018, the Second International Scientific and Practical Conference “Olbia Forum”, dedicated to the memory of Valentina Krapivina, was opened in the Mykolaiv Regional Museum of Local Lore. The organizers of the event are the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Nikolayev National University named after V.A. Sukhomlynsky, Mykolaiv Regional Museum of Local Lore and Scientific Research Archaeological Reserve “Olvia”.

The conference was attended by more than 50 researchers not only from Ukraine but also other countries: Poland, France, Switzerland and Russia. A greeting to the guests was made by the rector of Nikolaev National University named after V.A. Sukhomlinsky Valery Budak, Head of the Department of Culture of the Nikolaev Regional State Administration Mikhail Dimitrov, Director of the Nikolaev Local History Museum “Staroflotsky Barracks” Volodymyr Mikhailov. Head of the Department of History, Ethnology and Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Sukhomlynsky, Professor Nadiya Ryzheva mentioned the origins of Mykolayiv archaeology and noted the achievements of archaeologists Vasyl Nikitin, Yuri Grebennikov, Volodymyr Stanko and Igor Smirnov.
