On May 15, 2019, the Admiral S.O. Makarov National Shipbuilding University hosted a roundtable on “Adapting the city to climate change: EU experience and prospects for the city of Mykolayiv”.
The event is devoted to the World Climate Day and was held as part of the celebration of the Days of Europe as part of the European Ecofestival “Greenways to Europe”. Within the framework of the round table, the transfer of collective appeal, signed by the students and teachers of the higher education institutions of the city of Mykolayiv to the mayor, is scheduled for the city mayor to develop a plan for the city’s energy transition to be 100% renewable by 2050, as was done by Zhytomyr and Lviv. According to the results of the roundtable, recommendations were prepared for the city leadership on measures to adapt to the city of Mykolaiv to climate change.
The event was organized by the Faculty of Ecological and Technogenic Safety of the NUS, the regional branch of the Creative Union “Association of the People of Pop Art” in conjunction with the youth policy of the Mykolaiv City Council, the initiative group “City of the Sun”, the National Ecological Center of Ukraine under the patronage of the mayor.
